Collaboration Meetings at ECT*

Collaboration meetings can be of two types:

  1. Meeting of part of a large experimental collaboration having an open working session on a specific topic. These are considered as ordinary workshops and evaluated as such by the Board of Directors. It is however anticipated that the collaboration contributes substantially to the total cost of the meeting.
  2. Small working groups involving a small number of people (of the order of 15 or less) and lasting for a small period of time (typically less than a week). These are referred to as small collaboration meetings.

The Board delegates to the Director the responsibility for decisions about small collaboration meetings. Publicity and selection of participants are the responsibility of the organizers. In particular ECT* will not issue posters for small collaboration meetings. Collaboration meetings can be fitted into gaps in the programme of normal ECT* workshops which are selected by the Board of Directors.

There is very limited financial support for small collaboration meetings. ECT* will make its facilities available to the participants and provide arrangements for accommodation etc. But, in general travel and most of living expenses will be covered by the participants. Exceptionally, some additional funds may be provided by ECT*.

Groups wishing to organise collaboration meetings should contact the Director and send an appllication with:
  1. A title for the meeting and names and addresses of Organizers,
  2. A short description of the purpose of the meeting and of the programme,
  3. Information about the expected number of participants,
  4. Preferred dates,
  5. Information about the financing of the meeting and any request for financial support.
Applications can be submitted electronically at any time. To do so please LOGIN and follow the instructions.
